Roosters Den, the charming and comfortable country cottage of the Montenibbio Quarterhorse Estate, is found halfway between two of Italys major art cities, Rome and Florence. Located just 25 minutes north of Orvieto, a medieval town in the heart of the breath-taking countryside of Umbria, the cottage is easily accessible from Rome or Florences international airports traveling by car via the A1 Milan-Naples motorway, or by rail via the main Rome-Florence train line.

Umbria is situated in the center of the Italian peninsula, bordering Tuscany, rich in not only history, art, and culture, but in excellent wines, a variety of fruit and vegetable produce and olive oil as well.

The stone cottage, originally built in the late 1800s, was recently refurbished with great taste and local flavor. Ideal for a family or group of 3-4, it is 60 sq mt. and has a queen master bedroom, one bathroom with shower and beautiful mosaic tiles. The living room has a lovely fireplace and 2 sleep armchairs. The fully-equipped, sunlit kitchen has a table for four at which guests may enjoy a variety of healthy and unique produce from the garden. For larger groups, there are 2 additional bedrooms and one bathroom available in the main house (separate private entrance).

Outdoor amenities include a barbeque and  swimming pool with beautiful views of the Umbrian vista, as well as a laundry room.  The prized Montenibbio show horses graze and frolic around you (guests enjoy feeding, petting and even walking them around the arena.). Internet access is available in the main house for guest use. The estates 50 acres of ancient olive trees, woods and pastures provide endless opportunities for peaceful walks, bird watching, and relaxing with a glass of local wine. With an altitude of 650 meters above sea level, the estate commands a 360-degree breathtaking view of the lush Orvieto Valley below.
Both Umbria and Tuscany are yours to discover within a short drive of Rooster's Den. You can visit many medieval towns such as Perugia, Spoleto, Assisi, Gubbio, Todi, Orvieto and Cortona, Siena, Montepulciano, Montalcino and Pienza. Local festivals abound from spring through fall.
